Time is the one thing we always run short of (besides cash)! Therefore, last minute beauty problems are most unwelcome; and when a quick trip to the salon is not an option, this article is what you need to learn the tricks of the trade.
Quick Fix#1 :Bad Hair Day
Who hasn’t had a bad hair day (or days)? Some demand a complete camouflaging with scarves and buns whereas some can be turned around with a little help.
If your hair starts to look greasy and you don’t have time to shampoo, squirt some anti-bacterial gel in your hands and run them lightly through your hair. The gel dissolves the oil build-up. Brush and blow-dry and voila! You and your hair are good to go.
Frizz is one of the worst enemies of fashion. Getting it under control is tough but for a quick fix, you can apply little bit of hair conditioner (the leave-in kind) or even some hand cream on your hair. That can ensure some resistance to the frizz.
If limp hair is the reason for your troubles, wear a broad head-band in a way that it lifts your hair up. Spray a voluminizer over your hair and wait 10 minutes before taking off the band. There, now you have gorgeous voluminous hair to be proud of.
Quick Fix#2 :‘Face’ The Enemy
A tired face can sag your pretty smile to a sulk. Lack of sleep/rest can cause the saggy look. When you are over-tired, blood circulation becomes limited to the face because it is directed towards the major organs to keep them working, hence, your face ends up looking wrinkly or pasty. The time proven remedy is to get the right amount of sleep. But if you don’t have enough snooze time then it’s advisable to skip the make-up that day for getting as close to looking ‘well-slept’ as possible. Apply a little moisturizer, if it’s tinted, even better. A slight dusting of face powder, some lip gloss and you are set.
Quick Fix#3 : Eyes
If you haven’t been sleeping enough, the body bears the brunt. Eyes show one the first tell-tale signs of sleep deprivation. Baggy eyes mean you have had a little too much to drink or you have been up all night. Either way, the bags can make you look older than you are. So, get a lot fluids ion your system, preferably water, to wash out the toxins. Aloe Vera gel or any decent eye mask can do a good job of lessening the puffiness.
If your dark-circles are ruining your life, know how to hide them in plain sight. Dab some eye cream under your eyes to hydrate the area before putting on concealer for a smoother effect. Always choose a concealer that is one shade lighter than your foundation. Apply carefully, working upwards from the area under the eye to the lower lash-line. Blend in properly near the creases. Unblended concealer application can aggravate your problem instead of hiding it.
Quick Fix#4 :Adamant Acne
If you see one blooming, nip it in the bud. Gently massage an ice-cube (wrapped in a handkerchief) over the area for 10 seconds. Repeat this action every hour to reduce the swelling and redness, if any. You can also apply a formulation that contains 2% salicylic acid. If you want instant gratification, dab on some concealer.
Quick Fix#5 : Lips
Dry, cracked lips are not only ugly but difficult to apply lipstick on. Lip balm helps, but olive is a better option.
There’s nothing olive can’t fix. Lips, knees, elbows, feet. Apply that oil and find yourself soft and glowing everywhere!
Quick Fix#6 :Stained Teeth
Camouflage them with nude or coral lip colors. The contrast makes your teeth look whiter in comparison. Avoid brown, tangerine or blood red or any such bold colors at any cost, and save yourself the embarrassment.

Quick Fix#7 :Not Nailing It At All
Dry, wrinkled hands and dehydrated nails definitely do not make a good pair. Remedy the problem by massaging your hands up to the wrist with a concoction of coconut oil (or olive oil), salt and baking powder. The salt exfoliates, the baking soda releases oxygen to the dry parts/creases, puffing them up, and the oil moisturizes. The end result is impressive and soft!
Quick Fix#8 :Feet
Everybody hates smelly feet! If you have this problem, you need to get rid of it and fast. Soak your feet in a bowl of hot water, add crushed mint leaves. This should help de-odorizing your feet.
You are running late for something and you figure that your feet don’t look up to the mark; instead of removing the chipped polish and starting anew, just add two coats of a darker polish and save yourself some time.
If you want to add some oomph to your otherwise normal looking feet, crumble a tiny bit of an old pearly eye-shadow into powdery finesse. Mix with moisturizer and apply. Now they look soft AND give off sheen!
Quick Fix#9 :Tan Tantrums
Whether it’s a fake tan gone wrong or a real tan, tan lines are not flattering. To get rid of them, jump into a swimming pool. The chlorine in the water is natural bleach and can help to get rid of the tan. If your knees or elbows are too dark, apply whitening toothpaste over them in circular motions, regularly. The whitening agents help lighten the area.
Quick Fix#10 : Body Odor
Keep your armpits dry and shave them regularly. Apply an antiperspirant at bedtime. This gives the product a chance to work while you sleep and are not sweating.
Nothing can replace a naturally healthy look but if you are clever enough, quick-fixes like these can shoo away all your beauty-related problems. So, smoothen out those worry lines and be happy! Also, don’t forget to share with us your own last minute fixes.
